Suspendable Acts
The state of Education Code 48900 and Los Angeles Unified School District policy provide for possible suspension and/or recommended expulsion from school when a student is involved in any of the following activities:
- Threatening, attempting, or causing physical injury to another person
- Possessing, selling, or furnishing any firearm, knife, explosive, or other dangerous objects
- Possessing, using, selling, furnishing, or being under the influence of any controlled substance or intoxicant of any kind
- Offering, furnishing or selling any substance represented as a controlled substance or intoxicant or any kind
- Committing robbery or extortion
- Causing or attempting to cause damage to school or private property
- Stealing or attempting to steal school or private property
- Possessing or using tobacco
- Committing an obscene act or engaging in habitual profanity or vulgarity
- Offering, furnishing, or selling any drug or drug paraphernalia
- Disrupting school activities or willfully defying the authority of school personnel
- Knowingly receiving stolen school property or private property
- Possessing an imitation firearm
- Sexual harassment
- Sexual assault/battery
- Willful use of force/violence
- Violating bus rules
- Harassing/threatening/intimidating another pupil
- Hate violence
- Terrorist threats
- Harassing/threatening/intimidating a witness.
