Other Information for Teachers

Change of Address/Telephone/Next of Kin

The School Administrative Assistant should be notified immediately of any changes to a staff member’s emergency card.

Mailboxes

A school mailbox with the staff member’s name below the box is located in the Main Office. MAILBOXES ARE FOR SCHOOL-RELATED BUSINESS ONLY.  Private business is not to be transacted using school mailboxes.

It is suggested that teachers check their mailboxes several times during the day for school and District communications.

Due to the important and sometimes-confidential nature of school mail, students should not be requested to remove materials from any teacher’s mailbox.

Supplies and Equipment

Supplies and equipment are ordered through the SLC Lead Teacher.  It is helpful to order supplies at the end of the school year or over the summer to ensure arrival of supplies by the time the fall semester begins.  General supplies will be distributed to individual teachers through their SLCs.

Parking
All automobiles must be registered in during the first week of the semester in the Dean’s Office, where permits are distributed.  PLEASE DISPLAY YOUR PERMIT PROMINENTLY ON YOUR FRONT DASHBOARD OR MIRROR.  Because of recent changes in parking availability, cars without permits may be ticketed.  The main faculty parking lot is located at the corner of Western and 242nd.  Be aware of designated parking spaces (especially the nurse’s space and handicapped spaces), as ticketing does occur.

Telephones
Telephones are to be used for school business only. A public telephone is available in the Main Office.  A public telephone for student use is located next to the Main Office.  Except for emergency parent contacts, staff may not use cell phones during instructional time.

Students are allowed to have cell phones on campus, according to current District policy.  All student phones must be turned off during instructional time.  Phones may only be used during nutrition and lunch.

Library
The Library will open daily from 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

The scheduling of class visits must be arranged in advance with the librarian.  Teachers are encouraged to work with their students prior to arrival in the library regarding treatment of library materials.

Computer access and a photocopier are available to students in the library.  There is a nominal charge for photocopies.

Cafeteria
The staff dining room is adjacent to the student cafeteria. Food is available before school and during nutrition and lunch periods.

Photocopy Machines
Students may not use any photocopying equipment provided for staff use. A copy machine is available in the library for student use.  A nominal fee is charged per copy.

Faculty copying is done in the Copy Room located in F4.  Teachers may use the copiers before school, after school, and during their conference periods.  Teachers may also submit copy requests for our clerk, Pepper Long.  Request forms are located in F4.  Ms. Long needs at least two days’ notice for standard classroom sets.

Please remember that

  • The copy machines are for use by faculty and staff. The user must provide paper.  Each teacher should get paper from the SLC Lead Teacher.
  • An access code is necessary for operation of the copiers.  A code may be obtained from the Title 1 Coordinator.
  • As a matter of professional courtesy, usage of machines is limited to 10 minutes at a time.  If more time is needed, you must return later.
  • The Duplo machine may only be used for making 20 or more copies of one master.

If you need instruction to use the machines, or if to report a problem with one of the machines, please contact Pepper Long.
