Mission Statement

To provide all students the opportunity to gain knowledge, skills and values necessary to become contributing members of a diverse, ever-changing society.

Vision Statement

Narbonne’s supportive learning community builds academic excellence and shares mutual respect for all learners in an environment that supports the achievement of the State Standards for all learners.

Expected School Wide Learning Results (ESLR’s)
The WASC Committee established the following ESLR’s in the spring of 2007 as part of the accreditation process.

Narbonne High School will prepare its graduates to be:

Effective Communicators: who listen, speak, read, and write at or above grade level.

  • Read and comprehend information, including instructions, a ballot, the newspaper, employment or college application forms, and literary works.
  • Listen and comprehend information, take notes, and report accurately what was presented.
  • Speak with confidence within a group and to an audience, both formally and informally.
  • Write reports, letters, essays, and creative assignments using Standard English.
  • Use a computer to develop documents, graphs, charts, and visual presentations.

Complex Thinkers: who demonstrate proficiency and creativity in solving both practical and abstract problems.

  • Apply complex problem-solving skills and logical critical-thinking processes to real-life scenarios.
  • Analyze, interpret, and transfer learned skills to new situations.
  • Determine the validity of a logical argument and formulate counter examples to disprove the statement.
  • Synthesize information from multiple sources while considering the perspectives of these sources.
