Student Dress Code

NARBONNE HIGH SCHOOL CONSIDERS ITS EDUCATIONAL FACILITY AS A PLACE OF BUSINESS; THEREFORE, STUDENTS SHOULD DRESS ACCORDINGLY.

There are basic rules that students must follow in the selection of their school dress. Attire must be safe, clean, in good repair, must not cause a distraction, and must not be gang related. The following Narbonne dress code is not meant to include all possible restrictions, but rather as a general guideline:

  1. No covering the head with hats (other than Narbonne hats), hoods, sweat bands, stocking hats, beanies, hairnets, hair rollers, scarves or bandanas.
  2. No belt buckles, gloves or other attire that identify gangs, drugs, etc.
  3. No short skirts or short shorts.
  4. No tank tops spaghetti straps or narrow straps, single shouldered tops, bare midriffs, tube tops, or backless tops.
  5. No exposed underwear. It is unacceptable for a student to wear a coat or outer garment to cover inappropriate tops or bottoms.
  6. No chains made up of large chrome links that could be used to injure someone (i.e. whipping, thrashing motion).
  7. No house slippers, bare feet, or thongs.
  8. No loungewear or pajamas, etc.

THE CONSEQUENCES FOR VIOLATING ANY OF THE ABOVE RULES WILL BE:

  1. REFERRAL TO THE DEANS OFFICE (Student will be asked to change clothes or will be sent home - Parent will be contacted)
  2. PARENT CONFERENCE
  3. POSSIBLE SUSPENSION FOR REPEAT OFFENDERS.
