Counselor Amy Radovcic
I was born and raised in San Pedro, California. I am one of 40,000 Croatian-Americans who live in San Pedro. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from San Diego State University and a Master's Degree in Counseling and Guidance with a Pupil Personnel Service Credential from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, Ca. I also have an Administrative Credential from National University. Currently, I am a first year doctoral student at Loyola Marymount University. In 2010, I will earn an Ed.D in Educational Leadership for Social Justice. In the past 7 years I have traveled to 15 countries as an American Teacher Leader traveling with 50 to 80 middle school students across Europe and Australia. I also enjoy playing tennis, Kickboxing, climbing tough hills, swimming and hanging out with my 94 year old (Grandpa) Dida Toma.
This is my 8th year as a counselor for LAUSD, my fourth year as a Gaucho. I am the counselor for the SLC: Health and Human Service Academy (HHSA). Students in HHSA are studying to enter public service related employments such as nursing, law enforcement, education, social work, any various other medical or people-related jobs. I love working at NHS, the nicest, hardest-working people I have ever met and worked with. I also love and enjoy working with my students and their families. The diversity on this campus is fantastic and is celebrated daily. |
